Central Ideas and Details

核心知识

Find the main point of a short passage and identify the details that support it.

深入理解

Central idea questions ask for the one point the passage is built around. Detail questions ask you to match a specific sentence the text states directly.

The passages are short, so the main point is often near the first or last sentence. Read the whole passage first, then choose the answer that fits the broadest claim without getting too broad or too narrow.

Detail trap: wrong answers often twist one real detail by changing a word, flipping cause and effect, or lifting it from the wrong part of the passage. Go back to the relevant sentence before you choose.
