知识点 3

Use correct comparative/superlative forms and logical comparisons.

核心知识

Use a comparative for two things, a superlative for three or more, and make sure the sentence compares like with like.

深入理解

Rule: Some ACT errors sound subtle because the comparison word is only slightly off. "Best" looks strong, but it is wrong if the sentence compares only two options.

  • Also make sure the sentence does not compare unlike things, such as a student to a sentence or a city to a bus route.
